Check your fuses. Maybe even clean / virginize cards and reload. Also You can no longer build your private info from your 501's current firmware. P401's CS App area reports incorrect, I think they wan't it that way so you have to generate from P369 or lower. Just check and re-check.

I've encountered a issue with a 128 (18MHz) that I've not seen with 2 other cards:
*Erased at least 6X's (also w/ Alt Chip Erase)
*Virginized using PHX loader
*Returned card to Orignal Atmega settings
*Checked Fuse settings (FF AF-or A1-89 FF)
*Using S.J. 7.8 ..... it hangs up loading the EEPROM prgrm
...just sits there for a long time (more than 45minutes)
*Tried PHX loader - same results

Using 301.10, public numbers, F/W-243

Anyone ever had this happen to their 128 card?
Thx!!

I have refrained from saying it but myself and a couple others think there is something with the Phoenix, and the older Wicked Loaders that are damaging the 128's. I have lost several of them.. and I really truley believe its due to something with the loader. Try reading the Fuses off your card(s) with problems and if the first one is C0 I would venture to guess its toast.

I have recovered a couple cards using the jumper / virginize trick and they cam back. But at least 2-3 I have trashed because they wouldn't revive.

Thx, Empulse!
Can you tell me what "CO" is...?

Is this the first Fuse setting you are referring to?

I've checked the card and the Fuse settings come up as FF AEF 89 FF.

I've used the S.J. 7.8 to "Verify EEPROM" and it comes back with an error in the "0" position as 0E and should be FF.
Any ideas what this means?

Also, will jumping the card (as I've read in the Forum) corrdect this slow-no program loading?

Thx, again!!!

yeah, its a fuse that comes up it seems when the card is fried. I know of a handful of people with that as well. C0 A1 89 FF. If that is not what you are getting then try the jumper. When you jumper just virginize/clean (use Junior Roba) then erase it a couple of times as well. Remove jumper and program in Phoenix. If it won't go I say don't spend much time on it. Save card, pull the chip/IC from the board (use flux an solder wick) be careful not to lift a pad. Then order new 128/256 IC and install it. 15$. But hell you can get em with a shit programmer for 11$ on Fleabay.
