7100u guestion

I have an old 7100 and was curious if anyone has gotten one of these working and if so what did u do to get it to work? I would like to get it to work with an atmega..or should I junk it?

You have to pull the tsop chip under the hard drive to reprogram it. You can make it work, but I seriously recomend you go with an easier box to work with. Lot's of other weirdness with those old Microsoft boxes too. For starters, if you don't have the remote, your screwed.
