I've been running Atmega 128 on bev and we all know where that's gone...

My question is whether or not it is possible to share an auxed 102 with a friend across town?

I've read alot about auxed 102 setups and sharing with other irds from the same pc but have not come up with much info regarding sharing over the internet or through a network.

So far we've come up with one option that may work. It's called Network Serial Port Kit 5.1. It allows you to connect any serial port devices over the TCP/IP network or Internet. Could this be used to mimic a single pc shared connection, but over the internet instead, similar to how IKS works with ftas?

Is it a question of connection speed between our pc's that may pose problems? We both run dsl high speed if that makes a difference.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be great.

Thanks.

This topic definately is interesting for me also, the only difference is I would like to share my AUX to 2 IRD's in 2 different rooms via my LAN. I'm sure if it can be done via WWW then LAN is possible too. I'd love to help if I can. THX...

I downloaded the proggie and it looks promising... I'm gonna set it up and see what happens... I'm concerned with my net access tho.. High speed wireless sux :)
If I get it to work I'll post here with my settings.

I just am getting setup with emu, and was wondering the same damn thing. What program is it? and where can i find it..? ( no live links, or PM me). Have in-laws on other side of town and if i could avoid going over every couple days would be sweet.

set them up with an old pc running win2000 lite, connected to the internet auxed rom card and max/mel. All I can say is remote desktop is your friend!!! No need to see the in-laws that often!!!!!

I had tried the Nework Serial Port Kit before and ST19XL would not work with it. Let me know if any of you get it to work.

I also tried another software called Serial to Ethernet Connector and same issue.

sharing over the internet? I wanna learn how to share over my local receivers first!!!
One card and 3 receivers would be perfect.

Remote desktop is your friend only if your behind one hell of a firewall...

ruciz, if your running linux i wonder if you could use netcat to pipe the data to where it needs to go(you can pipe sound over lan with it)? You would need to use auxshare to get 2 ird's going with 1 card....

only problem with this is you'll only get 1 direction with netcat,,
ird --> aux
or aux --> ird

I dont know if there are any other utilities that would take care of this or not, but it may be possible to write a little script to switch the direction after 1 has completed. probably over simplifying it but its something to think about.
