vs ultra usb problem...HELP PLEASE!!

hi everyone. i have a viewsat ultra. i am having problems loading the new bin codes via usb. usually i hit menu then go to reciever upgrade, then scroll down to USB, hit ok and my files are there to choose from. but now my screen has tiny blue squares all over it and it won't let me select USB. the screen just flickers when i hit OK. i tried reseting the reciver and nothing. could it be a virus? i also tried another reciever i have right out of the box and the same problem. i don't know what to do. do i need to send it for repair? thank you in advance to anyone who responds.

Definitely not a virus.


Download and extract the file again to the usb drive. Mybe it's corrupt and fails a checksum before loading.

yeah i tried that and still nothing. my reciever doesn't let me even choose the usb option. the screen just flickers when i press OK. could it be i have to enter new keys manually or something? this is pissing me off.

Try a different USB device.

ok i did a factory default three times and tried the new bin and it worked. thanks everyone for the responses. unfortunatlly we all got hit again:(

when you do a factory default also do a factory restore find the file VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V131.pgm this will restore the receiver to new and then write the new dec 7 bin.

how do i do a factory restore? and where do i find the file VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V131.pgm? is it in the reciever?

You Write The Factory File Just Like A Fix You Can Find This File Where You Downloaded The Fix From Or Do A Seach In Google But I'm Sure It's In The Download Section. Sorry For The Caps
