Hey guys, I'm pretty new to emulation and I'm VERY confused. :)

I had everything working for a total of 2 days, then once things started to change I never got it gonig again. I have the latest ST19 version and AUXSHARE running on a PC with two COM ports and another 2 being emulated -- is this considered AUX or AUXLESS?!

Currently no PPV or HBO is working, is this the same for everyone or I am not doing something?

Thansk in advance!

Unless you are using a Real Aux'd ROM102 card in an ISO, you are running Auxless.

When MAPs are being implemented, you are not going to receive any channels that require them. ST19xl does not emulate provider-specific MAP calls, you would be receiving the same channels even without Auxshare running.

If you are serious about running pc emulation, I would suggest you get setup with a real Aux.

It is considered cardless, or without an auxcard, auxless.

It is the same for everyone.

At this time, you need an actual auxcard to get PPV, XXX, and premiums.

Ok, now I understand cardless :) Thanks guys.

So I also have a plastic card, what do I do with it? I've been using plastic for years so I have the ISO programmer already. How do I run with a card now?

Thanks!!

I believe there is a sticky post in this forum doing a play by play on getting it working.

In short, you need to clean the card and apply PerkysAux (latest) to Aux your card, hook it up to another serial port on your emu pc and adjust your command line as necessary.

something like: ./st19xl -a -m -s -pe1 -pa2

I tried looking for 'Perky's Aux' in the file section and could not find it. Could you please link or direct me?

Thanks for the hand holding ;) Or simply paste the bn contents in here...

You might want to check out the file I posted in the files section. Poster JoeSnuffy in the emulation section its got all the files you need and I even put directions into it. I made it to be used for folks like yourself that got the aux type working making it easier to transisition or if you just need files/flashes their in there also.

Hey Joe, I tried your files and no luck, when I run the ST19 I get the MSG "Bad EMU sio port"

any ideas? I've got the emu card on COM1 and the AUX card on COM2

1. Load penky's bin on my card
2. run AUXSHARE /E2 /D /M25
3. run ST19XL.EXE -a -m -s -pe1 -pa2 (with the correct .COR file in the folder)

??

Thanks!

You don't need auxshare if you are running st19 with a aux card
using com 1 and com 2.

Just run the st19 program with the pramaters you show in line 3 it
should work.

Make sure you have the st19xl.exe for windows and not the one for
dos or linux.

Hello. I'm new to this also. May I ask why not to use the dos (boot floppy) version of st19xl.exe? I was going to get started on emu and I have a IBM P2-450 running win98se, so it's perfect for dos.
Thanks

Dos boot disk works fine.
