Hello. I'm quite green on the emu scene. However, I think I'm pretty handy at electronics stuff, such as following and building a 2-chip emu. I just finished building the "2313/232 Emulator with Electronic Switchover" by following the box schematic in the forum. (Very involved much soldering). I hope it's correct, that is the diagram and my soldering job.
But my problem now is where to find a 5V source on the 301 board. I have it apart, but aside from randomly touching contacts with a multimeter, is there someone who has done or is familiar with the 301 in this way? Or should I power the emu with an external 5V DC power supply?
Thanks for any help I can get.

It's been a while since I did one but I do remember, You'll find 5V at a point just a couple of inches to the right of the card slot looking from the front toward the back of Ird. Just probe around with your meter in this area till you find it.

There is as spot next to the cardslot marked C35. You can take it from there.

witch 301 are you talking about ?
The 301-13 or the 301-10 ??

The reason I ask is that I have a 301-10 and would like to know if the 5v is also at c35 ??? I know the two boards are different .

Sorry it took so long for me to answer your question re: type of 301.
I was talking about a 301-010, which has a marked area for a cap but with no cap. Don't know about 013.
