I just need to clear this up for myself. Been trying for a few days now with no luck.

Is it possible, with what is available right now, to share one aux with two irds, using auxshare?

I am trying to get both my 301.10's going at the same time, sharing my aux card, with xp in dos window.

I can get either one going independently. But can't seem to get both at the same time.

If possible, then which version of auxshare?

I think the older 16bit versions of auxshare are supposed to support card sharing to multiple ird's.

0.1.2 does work with sharing the aux, but the ONLY way in hell its going to be really fesiable is if you have 2 computers, or possibly a good dual core system..
one to run the auxshare, and the other to run ST.
Just running auxshare 0.1.2 with 2IRDs setup in the properties taxes my 2GHz P4 at 97% no matter what the multitask is set to.

Still, a 400Mhz system running a bootdisk with a bunch of lava cards is cheaper than a spare ROM102 by far.

could you please elaborate on how to setup 2 ird's w/ 1 aux cam and 2 pc's?

Thanks

Its identical to VSPD except its physical ports.

You need one computer with at least 3 COM ports, and your ST19 OS machine with at least 4, and 2 null modem cables to connect the 2 computers. Processor speed should be around 400-500MHz for each machine.

You add your serial card to COMP1, having now 3-4 com ports depending on the computer. Make your auxshare bootdisk and specify your ports. One is your true 102 aux (/C1), and 2 are your AUX outputs (/E2 /EE3). In this example, COM1 is your AUX card hookup, and COM2 and COM3 are your new ROM102 card outputs. Hopefully auxshare don't mind using COM2 and COM3 together. if so, switch your AUX to COM2, and use 1 and 3 as the new AUXSHARE ports

Using 2 Null modem cables (schematics available abroad, pretty sure you only need pins 2 3 crossed, and 5 straight through for gnd) connect your serial card of your COMP2 as if they were true ROM102 cards.

Heres where its confusing:
So say you hook IRD1 to COM1 of COMP2, and IRD2 to COM2 of COMP2, then you connect COM2 of COMP1 to COM3 (via null modem cable), and COM3 of COMP1 to COM4 (via null modem cable).

then you just make your ST19 commands like they were true auxes
ST19xl -a -m -pe1 -pa3
ST19xl -a -m -pe2 -pa4

Let me know for sure if it works... lol

simple!

I have fixed the communication problems that existed in 0.1.5, but I haven't released anything yet.

The reason being - it won't work with two emu clients yet, because map22 is *totally* different than either map3b and map57. Map 57 was one aux packet per command $07. Map3b was 2 aux packets and the sequence was not important - Auxshare could service emu client #1 with one packet then emu client #2 with one packet - then finish up with client #1 and lastly finish up with client #2.

Now - map22 is a different beast altogether.

For the past few days I have been trying to share one auxcard with 2 receivers. Setup is 2 computers, all dos bootdiscs, auxserver running auxshare 1.2.

On startup, emu-client one sees the auxcard, but after keys roll I have no PPV, XXX, or premium.

Is it not possible to share one auxcard at this time?

Yes, I DID. Just wanted to be sure that the post did not apply only to vers 1.5. (or only windows vers)

I also saw a post above by you approx a week ago, telling someone how to do it, so I was a bit confused. Because the map call was in use at that time, I assume your post must have been allot of wasted bandwidth.
