Problem with usb 256

I just got my usb 256 today i installed drivers plugged in board and ran software and nothing happens . I also tried running software with usb board not plugged in and software doesnt start. If anyone can help me out ..

U.S.B. must be set up to run on you compters, M$ has the set up.
Did you load the drivers ?
Did you get a 5 wire USB cable - or do you have a 4 wire cable

i went and got a 5 wire usb cable i tried it on 2 different computers when i plug the card into usb cable it sees it and say new hardware found but when i run software nothing happens . and the usb ports work when i plug in other things..

I just tried running computer in safe mode and the software runs fine but normal boot up it wont work any ideas what software might be causing it not to work.

For mine running xppro, I have to right click the exe and run as administrator

New hardware found does not complete the process. You have to wait until it says new hardware loaded and ready to use.

mine was reading usb atmega when i loaded usb drivers it stop reading it .it will read and write eprom
