View Full Version : Map3E timing MECM killing off Dishnet
BEV has the new code in teh stream but did not pull the trigger yet. Dish is blank for emulators on all PPV, Porn and International channels.
Map3E is being timed now. We will first have to get around Map3E, then time it. Map3E is exactly identical to Map22, except they use a 16 byte exponent instead of 2 byte exponent. For Map22 we needed a lookup table 256x32 = 8,192 entries and could be done. Now we need a lookup table 256x256x256......basically bigger than all the atoms in the Universe. Obviously some other approach will be needed.
Before you ask YES YOUR FUCKING VIEWSATS ARE EMULATOR SYSTEMS AS WELL :) If you have one go fuck a racoon. I am also out of USBAtmega256 cards. The next batch will not be coming in until after Christmas :(

well 256*256*256 is not that bad - really... its 16M... now for some emulation devices that have only 16M - that could be a problem, but for something like a PC runnign with 2G or more of RAM, do not see 16M tables being an issue at all... even if each entry was 4 bytes - that would be 64M... a small chunk out of a PC type device...

I have read post about the nag problems and getting looped or hit, needing to add blockers exc, if you get hit then your just out of 80 or 100 dollars! I don't have that kind of money to take that type of risk, an atmega card can't be wiped out, however it's kinda slow for support, and the FTA can't be reduced to pure junk either because of a simple ECM. I would think that we are all united here and should not be divided over testing methods, united we stand, divided we fall. Just my 2cents on this issue.this includes you mili.

Looks like the last ECM fix's from Dec7 for most FTA receivers will give you all channels back on bev LOL wide open.
Yes Bev is good with dec 07 fix. Working fine here.

At some future time , some people might change in their attitudes or behaviors or may be because of their consciences that they will want to subs for sat TV . IF most things are similar/identical when it comes to TV programming & pricing when comparing different sat carriers . Most people will choose DN ; most will NOT want DTV or Bv in the North .

I agree totally with the last post... the strategy by DN is perfect... you pull the hot channels - which is what the EMU and FTA hackers are all about... YET all the casual everyday joes that bought an FTA from the store, or backyard installer who start getting tired of the on/off game simply decide to sub... and going through the decision to sub with the channels right in your face probably sways the decision..

Sound like a ton of shit Sonicview and Viewsat are not the only one's up with the old bins fixed most recievers and they are up. He must sell Sonicview and Viewsat on his site.
And from what i have seen on these fixes they all come out on the same day usually. That means there is probally one real programer doing the work for all of them. A real programer doesn't just write code a code monkey can do that. A real programer designs for the hardware. and are paid big dollars. Each one of these FTA companies can't have real programers working for them and all figure it out at the same time.

Here it goes.
The only way to get any emu up right now is by brute forcing things. Slower systems will not have the horse power to crunch numbers in time. Newer systems are marginally capable to crunch the numbers NOW but if they time MAP57 for example then game is over. There is no way to look up all the possible numbers in time to get a picture. We are fucked but please go buy some more Viewsats.

I've been spouting for years for folks to stay away from these proprietary free-to-air systems.
You won't see the "Father of Emulation", PGM, recommending these either.
Yes, most will be junk shortly!!!!
"Brute force" is not required to keep his ST19XL emulation going.
The use of an AUX'd ROM card in the system handles the normal timing yet keeps the card safe. Nothing runs safer/better!!!!

The drawback for most peeps as far as pc emu is concerned is the ammt of work and trouble shooting that it takes to setup a system. The soldering/wiring/software config. gets the best of a lot of peeps, but to some like myself, this is the funnest part!!!

i wouldnt give the full win yet, but they are kicking fta's ass right now. securing their plastic is another battle they have to overcome, and i dont see it happening without a full swap.

I have always been loyal to this site even though u dont see many posts because I read and normally I get the answer I need. But for all of u to bash people because they have FTA is BS. I dont know y people r complaining so much, just because u dont have ppv or porn or hbo. I'm geting alot of channels still and until it completely goes out, i'm happy with it. I'm sure i'm going to get lit up like an xmas tree but I myself respect your testing and choice do the same for mine.

They hate FTA because the attacks directed at it are affecting other (their) devices and also because it has cut into sales of other test platforms.
