Was trying to load the 14 DEC bin from USB port and my Viewsat Ultra locked up at the "please wait..." screen for 30 minutes... Finally tried powercycling it and the unit appears "bricked"; is there an internal reset to factory defaults? Not responding to remote....

Try a power cycle. Turn the unit on and try and get into the menu right away. I have to do this some times on my extreme. if you can get into the menu, do a factory default 3 times. if you are successful, i would reload a factory bin from viewsats website. When loading a new bin, always do a factory default. Hope this works. Or, read this:

Just plug it in with the cable and write the bin. Easy fix.

If I can ever find the Loader2 tool...

Found loader.exe v1.0 on the DSSMili's Files/VIP site, but it only goes to "send ZFILE", sits at 0% and times out with communications error; been through all 16 pages of Viewsat files there, but cannot find the version 2 of the .PGM loading tool, anyone know where I can find it? Thanks!

Found a PVR loader version 1.1 (on other site, if anyone want's link, message me here); it DID work, got factory bin loaded and then could successfully update via USB with the 14 Dec Ultra .PGM. I had been noticing that the 7 DEC .PGM was intermitently flaky, wonder if that had anything to do with the previous USB load of the 14 DEC .PGM file blowing up?
