a little help with usb 256

i just got my 256, and i can't seem to find any threads discussing this.

i programmed my atmega 256 (no rsa) :

clicked detect, clicked erase, set up my settings for 3100.10 and wrote the file and wrote the bin that was included.

i have no ppv or proper locals.. is there a way to add these teirs, seems like the files section has teirs for DN only.

if someone could help i would much appreciate it..

oh. how come there isn't a sticky for setting up for norsa or private?

did you add tiers?

use a regular bin on the ird.

write avr using the last file which is 3.05
make sure the keys in the boxes are curent.
write your eprom that you made that has your tiers, timezone, ird# and boxkeys.(THIS IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO DO)
the eprom that comes with is not ready, it is just a base bin. you gotta make one man..
plenty o threads telling you how to do it. no sticky needed.

After you get her going make a thread and I will stick it for you. I have not sen the need up till now.

OH yeah, tune to a basic channel like 150 or 204 105 ect. let it sit there a few minutes before you try a premium channel like hbo or a ppv. it has to write the keys on the basic channel onto the code of the card.

so i have to use PK or can i stil use NO RSA.

Also, using the no rsa, i've downloaded FIXED_Bev_E651_Nag_TIERMAKER and created the teirs and added teh no rsa info to it and updated keys.

i am still blocked from the ch.

i used warspace_4n_public-rev_I and updated my info into it. all i get is info channels and the rest are marked red.

ok , use that bin and the dark angel tier gen, when it asks you for a bin to modify select the one your talking about.
add your new tiers to it and write that bin to the usb....
you should be good to go now!
red channels in guide = no tiers or tiers expired

ok i followed the above instructions plus looked at the new thread that was created for the USB 256 on how to program.

This is what i am doing:

open dark teir gen 6.0.1 and pick tm tier everything for bv, set my expire date and clicked patch tiers (im not too concerned with ppv at the moment). I used warspace_4n_public-rev_I to create a new eep for.

i open nagraedit52 and open my bin and apply the new patch and saved the bin


i used NagraMaster4.1 to update my keys and revision number and saved teh bin.

i reopend the bin in NagraMaster4.1 to verify my teirs, ird and cam.

i opened the latest usbatmega program and wrote the updated .102 bin to my atmega.

i am getting only info channels the rest are marked red. what the hell am i doing wrong. also im sitll using NO RSA.

I'm not sure but I think that by using the norsa bin you're screwing it up. The norsa bin is married already and my impression from what I've read is that the atmega256usb will negotiate what is needed by just being programed with the irdnum and boxkeys. Using a pre married bin might interfere with that. Of course I could be wrong...

Thanks Fubur. I just have 1 more question, do i hve to use the remap for buffalo that gives me 7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F7F0000001A? i am only asking bc i did't see Toronto there, and buffalo is much closer

I dont think if your pointing to bev you can get buffalo as a local.

One thing I do is I try and use romripper so that I can edit my keys, ird number boxkeys, timezone, remap ect.....all in one place.
It has a place to make your tiers or you can make sometiers and use romripper to apply the patch either way.

well i live in Toronto, i wasn't too sure what i should be choosing for my black out or remap location.

i used warspace_4n_public-rev_I and updated my receiver info and everything was open, i was just missing a few locals (much music, spike, comedy, tbs, ect) so far my ppv and other channels are open. thanks for you help and patience.

i have added all the theirs but it seems im still missing (or have expired) locals. ihave my expire date set to jan 31.

i've been using teir gen 6.0.1 and 5.x.x (can't remember the exact version) for b3v and i am still missing locals and have some locals that are still red. Is there a way to use the teirs from my atmega pfg and apply it to a rom 102 bin and alter the expiry date ??

when i was using the atmega 128 everything was wide open, now with the teir editors in the file section i am still missing a few locals.
