New to Atmega ..few Q's B4 I start

1.) Do I need to to do anything to the old IRD (2700 or 4700) with TSOP lock... such as vid mod or any other hardware alterations to use Atmega solution?

2.) Do I need any sort of blocker to prevent atmega getting looped?

3.) I have the box keys and Ird# is that enough to update a bin to marry the card to ird?
