I have tried everything with 2 receivers for Dish Network , 2800 pub numbers,
301.10 pub numbers , tried diff flashs for tsops , ck'd ird and box keys , both still tell me smart card not inserted correctly . What am I doing wrong ?
first make sure it is programing, click read on the keys and the ird# see if it reads real numbers or ffffff's, if you get ffff's it is not writing.
then try to leave it in the ird for about 20 minutes see if it will go away by itself

I had that with one receiver and I put a toothpick under the card in the receiver. If your card moves too freely it is not contacting with your receiver. Try the toothpick and see if it helps.

Try a business card or folded paper on top of the card to apply some down pressure that seems to help me out

Make sure your choosing the correct IRD in the drop down list. pull out put back in a couple times.

I tried all that and I still get the same thing. What I think I need is a 301.10 DISH tsop modded for usb256 atmega
just write Avr256 for the right model...next write bin that is included...do not write anything else....see if that works

Nope I tried that more than once and I still get same thing

Has this receiver ever worked through any methods? I.e. has it ever had video?
If so, were public numbers used?

Yes , with no problems , sub and blockers rom10 and 102, and I have tried 2 receivers , 301.10 , and 2800.
The thing that I see is tsop files out there dont really say they work with
usb 256 . If someone could upload the tsop files they use for usb 256 to
the files section it might help .

there are no special tsops for usb atmega. I use any that have the NoRSA and are public. These work fine.
Check the fileshop. There was a set of Wicked TSOPs that I loaded a while back.

and sorry it was Workmen and not Wicked.

I cant get on to fileshop
we dont send people to file shop.....if your gonna pay for a file why not pay mili?
or get it free during free periods?
The file shop is a scam. it is part of the whole rom10x scam
paulie there are no speacil tsops........
did you just leave the card in for awhile like I posted?
error 019 is a programing issue, try a diferent computer if you can.
try to go back a few versions like 3.0 or soemthing, just try diferent shit till you get lucky....once you get it fixed it will saty fixed

Thanks Fubr , Yes I left it in for a while , same problem . tomorrow I'll try diff versions. As far as trying another computer , I have 3 and only one will write to usb 256.
there is one other thing, you have to put a light coat of solder over the pads....
You can fuck it up if not careful and I dont have much faith in it.
I always have fixed the 019 by fucking with the programing till I got reid of it or leaving it in for awhile

fubr - I love the fileshop it has lots of files you can use. Like all sites it gets busy too. Why do you consider it a scam?

Thats why I started this thread , mine does same thing. And I have tried everything that was sugested . I bought mine from hobby aceess and they wont offer any help other than they told me to search the forums , so I guess Im just out 100 bucks .
have you 019 guys tried to read the eprom bin..save it to the hard drive then open it in romripper and COMPARE the read bin to the one you wrote to it to start with?
OK step by step
write avr
when complete go over to other side
write eprombin (select your bin you have prepared)
when 100%
paste in keys and write(just to be sure ok)
now click on read eprombin and let it read the card.
.
.
.
open romripper and clicke file > open bin and select the bin you SAVED (read)A few seconds eairlier.
now in the other side of romripper select the bin you SELECTED THAT YOU WROTE TO THE CARD a few minutes eailrier.
now click on compare
See anythin unuaull?
if you do then the card is not getting worte to properly hence the card not inserted correctly.
If everything looks good then it will be somekind of physical problem like a wore out card slot, waore out pads on the card.
stick the card in the ird with ird off.
turn it on if you get the error UNPLG IRD for 15 seconds........
plug it back in and wait for about 5 minutes see if error goes away.
The only time I could NOT get rid of 019 was a bad card that was not programing at all, it would not do anything and would read back fffffff's or card not detected.
good luck again, I hope you guys get it.

Ok , Fubr , As far as worn out card slots , I have tried 2 diff. IRD's , They both work fine with anything else I put in . I just tried to read usb and I got something new , it goes all the way through the read and then I get a runtime error . This never happened before . I did compare a couple of old reads I had in romripper and one was same as the write , and another was different. I only have one computer [ laptop ] that will work with this file . I wander if the new USBATMEGA
could be deffective ? I guess I could use it for a 100.00 ice scraper if we had snow in Florida. lol..

Ok, I got rid of the rntime error , Im not sure what caused that. I wrote a clean 102 bin . and got agood read . In romripper I compared them , 32 bytes diff. on the 1st line 3000 , was all ffffffffffffffffffffffffff. So it is probably a write problem.

if im not mistaken and it 's probably going to work;as fubr said try different loaders and wicked files but first use original jeepers and erase flash eprom with that !! then go ahead and program but everytime you use a different loader first erase flash eprom before programming but only use original jeepers to erase it!!
those dont work on these cards ssleslito.
has to be usb version from fab5.
maybe go back and try 3.0 or some other versions.
gonna have to get those fff's out for it to work.
try silly shit like safe mode on computer if it will run. try writing different bins till one takes..
I fucked with mine one day a lot of times it just all the sudden it worked.

I finally got a good write and a good read that were the same bin. using older usb 2.0 or 1.0 . In 3.06 I can detect avr , erase avr , and write avr but
in the mecm40 area it is all fffffffffff and I still get card not inserted in ird .
The MECM fields do not get populated with real code until you have the card in the receiver for some time.

I don't know if this will help or not but I was getting the same error using a USB 2.0 port, I switch it to a non 2.0 port on the same computer then wrote everything the same and it worked..
paulie

Ive tried a non 2.0 port and it didnt work. It seams like it is writing ok .
After I write I can read the bin in romripper and it is exactly the same as I
wrote to it.
Just got my usb today from milli. Tracking came in after it was in my post office. he he.
Had same problem,#019. Checked with romripper and get 48 bytes difference.
I did erase 3 times, like old 128 can't hurt.
Then I took wet fingers rubbed contacts, and put back in, away we went.
So mine is working with 48 bytes difference. Using 2700/2800/ ird.
HOpe that helps.
Update to my last post.
I recleaned the usb256 and reporgrammed it for my 301.010.
Get card #019 in the 010. hmmmmmmm
I know the card is good, and the programming, since it worked on the 2700/2800.
But no go on the 301.010, i'm still testing around to see what the problem is.
Update. working in another ird, after few hours goes #019 and then I have problems reading detecting avr. It will read the eprom, keys, everything else.
hmmmmm.
Program bug?
Some people say program for 510 if you use it in a 301l.013 and the problems go away.

When I try to read bin eeprom the program says it has encountered an error and shuts down? Anyone know why this happens? Thanks!!
I have done it now. 256 not detected, but I can write & read eeprom. write and read keys, read and write ird, cam time info.
It was working last night, and this morning got #019 error. Checked in romripper, and iso reader, i get FF for atr. My working (some channels)128 gives me an atr. I assume if you get no atr in an iso, you will get the 019 error code in a ird, or am i wrong.
Is it possible my mini cable is bad, even tho I can still read and write the other info to the eeprom. Just no avr detect. checked solder connections on 5 pin mini connector on 256 board ,all look soldered. Using loader version 3.09.
Any body got any ideas what I should check next?
Thanks
