Personally i have a ton of different hardware kicking around from Atmega to ARM to ST19. Anything that lets me keep my 102 cards OUT of the stream I personally consider to be a good thing.

Why is hoping that a non-plastic testing platform dieing a good thing to you? Does someone's atmega128 working somehow effect your TV?

I don't care what anyone tests. Just stating the facts.

The demise of various testing platforms is always touted with every new ECM. This one does apear to be a harder one to overcome though. But map57 took down a lot of platforms and people wrote them off as dead. But several months later they were all running again even the 128. The question then becomes how long does it take before we can write off a platform as dead?

well does anybody really care what your stated facts are? You have no basis for those claims just the hard on you get for whatever reason. Seriously dude what is the point of your post? Have something against the atmegas?

There are a few facts in life you might not like but that does not mean the person informing you is trying to insult you. The Atmega 128 probably cannot overcome these attacks. Why is that so personal? I have an Atmega and I do not want to buy anything else but it looks like I have no other choice.

Another truth you might not like, the former governor of my state Texas, George W. Bush, is a dope. Get insulted over that truth.

So unless he came here and informed all of us... we never would have figured out that the Atmega128 has met its end? Well Goddamn, thank you, i can finally sleep now.

I would say in this hobby you could never really say never.

You say in a later post that you are just stating fact. You claim this as fact? A fact is something you can back up with statistical data. Are you capable of doing this? Can you tell us exactly why the timing issue may or may not put the 128 out of commission? If not you're just spewing from your pie hole. What you are saying is far from fact. It happens to be an opinion. It also happens to be an opinion that you didn't form from your own research but rather accepted things others said without putting in the honest effort nor the intellectual where with all to garner an original opinion. And as such this opinion may be correct or it may not. Only time will tell after much effort by the coders that labored to give you back the atmega 128 to start with. It's posts such as these that make this so called "hobby" so damned irritating. It offers no insight, asks for no input, and certainly doesn't help a single iota!

I don't know what the big fuss is...
I'm still using my 128.
It still gets 50 or so channels, which is fine for my second receiver.
Damn sure been a good investment. :)

I'd like to have a dollar every time someone has said the atmega's have died I thank they have been dying since 2000 or some shit. Fact is they won't die when all else has died they keep going and going like the energizer bunny. The 128 or 256 someone always comes out with something. Might take a while but they come out. Atmegas worked with rom2,3,10,11 now 102s don't count them out they are the longest running option.

Oh, hell. If it died today I got my money out of it. It has been going for years now and I can't complain. It is going to be intersting if any emu will survive the new year. If so I''m glad. The more options we have the better. Keeps the price down on all testing platforms. One thing I do know if they come out with Full Emu then the only option Chucky has is a card swap. I really don't want to see that anytime soon. I know it's coming; just don't want to see it. I'm using the 128 in kids room as they just watch Disney, Nick, cortoons. It has been a very good investment indeed. It has kept my 102 cards in the drawer for the longest...LOL!!!
Bring it on, Chucky!!!!!!!!!!!!

No One released a fix for the 128's....... The provider rolled the map back allowing the old fix to work...... Thats it thats all. Have fun with them now one thing is for sure!!!!! It will not last long.

Bushwackers
The question everyone should be asking is why the provider did this. Hmmm Rev update, IRD hit other more damaging FTA ECM hmmmmm.

No matter what is going to happen, its nice to have pulled all that plastic from the stream and shut down the AUX in ST19.

Safest place for your cards is in the drawer.
