View Full Version : Is old firmware still needed for 301.13 ?

Around the end of August I had rolled my 301.13 firmware back to P343 (from P346) in order to avoid the 153 nag. Even though most posts talked about using P342, I already had a P343 image for my reciever. I put it in and it worked fine so I stuck with it. Got all three sats (superdish) and no more nag.

Anyways, within the past week or so many of my channels have gone black. At this point it's probably about 50/50 working and not. Now I know PPV is down, but I'm talking about regular channels. I'm using SatJamin' 8.0 on AtMega 128 18Mhz.

I'm guessing that this may be due to the old firmware, but I couldn't find anything talking about the 153 nag no longer being an issue. Before I take the update then have to re-jtag the thing back again I thought I'd ask in here :)

So, is current firmware on 301.13 working with Atmega128 without the 153 nag for regular channels? And if so, could anyone enlighten as to what/when/how it was fixed?

Thanks much!

Latest firmware for all models works fine right now as far as I know. You avoid the 153 nag (Charlies version, Bev has a slightly different nag), by not running 3M tiers on you card/emu .bins etc. Those nags are due to tiers the latest firmware recognizes and tiers only used for our hobby. Tiers like the Fox sports 3M tier will still give you the nag I think. Got to use individual ppv tiers etc. so things appear more standard to the receiver firmware.

That atmega128 is a great card, but it's lived a long and prosperous life, and you'll probably have to upgrade to the USB atmega256 if you want to stay in the game now.
