I have an ATmega on the way. Been doing some serious reading before it gets here. I do test plastic and FTA. So I am not totaly ignorant. But this may be a dumb question for which I can't dind the answer. What kind of Bin exactly to I need to put the tiers on. I have some 102 Bin that i use. I have downloaded every file I need and am ready. I am just trying to clear up a few questions.

eprom.bin
there is one that comes with the softeware or you can use your own.
just clean it and save it, it will have all the info you need on it.
If you use the one that comes with,,,,,,make sure your ird numbers match whats really on your ird if not you can jtag the ird and change them or..you can change the ones in the EPROM.bin to match your ird.
The one that comes with the software has no tiers, or timezone, ect....
it is a default base clean bin for you to build upon.

I have a question for those that know. I recieved my atmega 256 and have programmed it using the provided bin and private IRD #'s. Do I have to modify the TSOP? The IRD is one I had in the closet that I have jtaged many times, but it has the original tsop. If So which Numbers do I have to modify. I recieve a black screen, but the guide is not red. I tried to follow the "how to" as closely as I could. I am just missing something.

I am having the same problems. I do know that you need to add the tiers to the "eepDish.bin102" (in my case) using DARK Tier Gen program. and load that bin to the card.
I j-tag my 301-10 and got the puplic numbers after "Clicking Detect" so I think my receiver has the same numbers as the program requires.
But I still get "Card insered wrong" and I can't get the receiver to 'Acquire the satellites" Its Locked on 0 of 5. Not sure were to look now.

Snowman I think your t-sop needs to be corrected. In flashedit open your original tsop and then go to advanced. Under build/software info look at the position of the 1's. Now check the one you wrote to the ird, If different change it and save it, Write to ird. You can also just erase the region you usr for ecm's and let it update.

Can You mess up the TSOP or can you do a full flash erase and then let it up date via satellite? do I have to erase both Flash1 and Flash 2? or what. I am now programming my Flash using a bin file I download from here. It has. Does the "Build have to be the same as the one on the motherboard or does it chang after reprogramming?
I can't seem to get flash edit to open using my orginal bin I save "Save Mem" using jkeys. I saved both Flash 1&2.

All I am doing is writing the #'s from my IRD to the 102.bn. I am adding tiers and get no picture. Since I have the Box keys and IRd #'s I just wanted to use those instead of modding the tsop. Anyone got any exact steps they went by with private #'s and the supplied bin?

Same thing here, josey. Hope you get a good answer as I sure am interested in the solution. Thinking quite a few people are having similar probs. Read conflicting info about included bin having tiers on it or not. Where do 106 keys come in? Are they in the included bin? Many questions...

Well it looks like I killed the box. I erased both Flash 1&2 (full) and tried to program my saved orginal bins but I keep gettin an error message. I tried putting it back it the stream and nothing happens won'r even power up. waited for over 4 hours with no progess. Use to get green led whe I first plug in but now nothing.
Tried to jtag again and get all 0's for IRD# and al f's for box keys. Any other way to restore the TSOP? Any one one to buy a good used Atmega256 USB card. I never had any luck with any kind of Plastic. Got two Rom 102 cards that were unlocked but now say "No ATR" Not sure if there still good or what.
I now have a 311 receiver which I added a cardslot adapter or what ever but not sure if you can use these any more.

Does the tsop of my 2700 need to have the cam ID from the 102bn. I think this is where I am screwing up. I have not put a cam ID from my reciever on the 102bn in my tier program. Could someone tll me if I am off base.

Snowman you need to rewrite your tsop, just re-write your origional tsop or find one in files that match your build (first 3 letters). You have no ird #'s because you erased both flashes. You should have done just region sa 3. then let it update in the stream.

I was having the same error, put a plastic card on top top of the usb card. Works!

I think I am giving up on this set up. I not sure what I did to the receiver but I can't seem to program the 301-10 or write to the TSOP any more. I keep getting a error message using jkeys when I try to program any Bins. I did save my orginal before I did any erasing but can't seem to load these either. This receiver has two Flashs and I tried to program them both. I have a jatag adapter comming I guess I should have waited. Now I will need to find another receiver to test. I do have a 311 which I install the external card set up but I don't think that one will work with the Atmeaga 256 usb.
If any one knows how Or what I need to do to reprogram my 310-10 Please help

Success. Finally put in the public numbers and Poof have picture. Even did my first tsop mod along the way. Was way cool. Now have to work on my locals but will wait til later.

My advice to everyone who is having issues getting private info to work with the USB atmega256 is to go with public info first, make sure their card works and can get going that way. Then, modify the public eeprom.bin with their local and time zone and see if that works. Then get fancy and try to generate a eeprom.bin with private info. Most of us choose to stick with the public since it seems to work better and there is more support for it anyway.
