what? $30? are you serious? XenoPS chips which do everything for you are only $15!! pop in a pressed import and it works even!!

y-fix! Its free.. works on like 80% of pal with little distortion. If you want to play a lot of PAL games, get a new chip. XenoPS, Matrix Infinity (same as xenoPS) Crystal Chip, DMS4, memor32... These force the PS2 video mode to NTSC, so all games work in NTSC mode dispite their region, and auto-centering is very accurate and you have least amount of black bars. (NTSC is 525 lines res, where pal is 575 or something, so you lose a bit of screen on every game.. cheaper than a converter or a PAL TV!!)

What kind of chip you using? Or you using swap magic?
I installed an old DMS3+ and it handles pal games just fine. If you've got a chip, check the settings and make sure that pal setting is turned on.
