I did Dave cards back in the day. still have all the equipment. what do i need to do, (besides read------I know that.) to get into doing dish? what should I read? can my atmel be flashed on my dave equipment to work with dish? (i know there is a voltage thing there.) I have two 288-01 cards, and an old model 4000 reciever, i was gonna use if possible. i can get other models if needed. are my old boot loaders with atmels on them good for anything? I sub to dish now but my ird's don't have cards in them so that's out. they have slots in them but no cards. what would be the cheepest route for me to take? thanx to all in advance for the help. and the flamers can bite me. lol:p

You need rom 102 cards, and the unlocker, may be able to be modded to open them but you'll have to research that.
An old Dave ISO can be converted easily to read/write DN cards simply by changing crystal to a 3.68 mhz from the 3.57 Dave used.

Is there any such thing? LOL
Depends all on how much work you want to put into it or not. You can buy everything all set up, with the exception of programming the card, all from mili. Or you can modify (if possible) your dave equipment and get you an exsubbed receiver with a Rom102 and get busy.

I second what TT said, no real easy cheap way to get started.
If you don't want to mess with unlocking cards then get one that is unlocked already.
Higher rev 102s will need more than a simple unlocker, best to buy a good one if you go that way. Then be prepared to lose a few, to looping, while you learn.
