Hello everyone,

Today I was watching dishnet and the electricity went out.

When the lights came back on, my screen displayed 005 error.

I reset my reciever and it still showed the message.

Because I subscribe to dishnet, I called them and I had to give them my account number for them to turn my tv on.

What kind of inconvience will this cause for testers in the future?

Will this render all testing devices useless?

This message is new to me, and I never had to call them before.

The reason I ask, I may want to buy some atmega 256 cards in the near future.

the 005 means that the card/bin did not have the newest keys on it...apparently the keys changed while your ird was off line, so you got that message. Once your sub gets/writes the new keys, the 005 nag goes away.

Why do I have to call them now, and I did not have to call dishnetwork before?

ok it was a fluke man, when ur power went out the keys changed and werent updated on ur sub, eventually they would have updated by itself, but u got impatient and called them to get it fixed. Dont sweat it the chances of those to things happening at the exact same time again are very slim.

But I waited two hours, and I did did a crap load of resets to the IRD.

Yes, I unpluged the device between intervals.

anyone that can tell you that is a fu*king liar...nothing is guarenteed in this hobby, and if that is important to you, stay with a sub...its cheaper in the long run LOL
The keys have been changing almost daily, and get sent every 5 minutes..if your ird did not take the new keys within 5 minutes after you restored power, then your ird has a problem someplace, or your card does.

Testing is a very nebulous thing...you might be UP today, and down for a month..no one ever knows.
I have absolutley no idea if atmega 256, or usb256 atmegas (different animals here) is working right now as we speak. I DO know that st19xl WITH an AUXED card IS working right now.
ask whoever you buy the hack of your choice fromhow long they will guarentee that it will get you your free tv...and get it in writing. Otherwise, put up your money and take your chances guy.
