I got a atmega 256 of ebay its got Programmer with 25 DP serial cable. I can switch it over to usb with a usb converter or any other way?

Do you mean that your comuter doesn't have a parrallel port? Or, do you think that the USB Atmega software on this site will work with that card? As far as I know you won't be watching much TV with that card as nobody is writing code for it anymore. You need to spend $89 and buy a real USB Atmega card. Info is at the top of this page

You're shit outta luck. Only the USB Atnegas are working at all. The 256 you have, unfortunetly, is pretty much the same as the old 128's. Down with not much hope right now. But who knows, things change fast...

The usb atmega has a co-procesor that the regular 256 doesnt have. So its easier for the coders to write with the usb version.

Why would anyone buy a atmega for a 100 almost when you can get a fta unit these days for that and not worry about someone not writing programs for it. Just seems risky your depending on one person to supply you with a program for thisa card.

well it wont always be one person coding for that, keep in mind if man made it man can hack it. all in time the source code will be dumped by someone for those.

256 should work right now try some of the fixes in early Dec of last year start around 13th. I just looked at milis try the ones for the 14th of dec 2007 first. I don't have one or I would check it for you. The 128s are up also I am pretty sure at least thats what is being posted. Some of you folks should give this guy a break he just wants his tv like you do. They wen't back to the 9F they were using in early dec of last year I know just built a fix for a rom 102 and had to patch it. Might not last forever but don't answer questions if you don't have good answers.

Their is also one posted here for 13 Jan 2008 that may work by satjammin.
