Click this link. Scroll down the page, the program you need is Phoenix + Support - V 1.18. It has all the support files needed to run the program. Download it and extract it to a folder. Then download and extract Phoenix 1.2 to the same folder.

I think there's a self installer support file in the files somewhere. Sometimes depending on your puter, you will need more files, and it will tell you what files most times. .ocx and .dll files go in your windows system 32 folder

Connect the programmer to the printer port of the computer with the adapter.
Put the jumper on the two small pins on the atmega card,
slide the atmega card into the programmer with the pins pointing DOWN.
1.open jeepers program on desktop
2.get error click "ok"
3.click "atmel" at top
4.mouse over "atmega 128"
5.click "alternative chip erase"
6.click "ok"
7.click "atmel" at top
8.mouse over "atmega 128"
9.click "erase flash/eeprom"
10.click "ok"
11.REPEAT steps 3-10
12.close jeepers
13.open phoenix loader program on desktop
14.click "run wizard" at top
15.select "dish network"
16.click "next"
17.select your preferred tiers, use large arrows at top to move thru catagories
(tiers starting with *** automatically select all tiers in that catagory)
right click on your locals city and select remap, this sets your locals to regular channel numbers
18.fill in info at right, timezone and zipcode
19.click "next"
20.select keyset i.e."no rsa dish network","private" etc, IF PRIVATE select "load 102"or "load keys" and load your rom 102 image or keyset.
21.click "next"
22.select "18MHz"or "18.4"etc under "board Xtal", make sure "iso clock" is set to 4.50 in the top right hand box
23.click "next"
24.click "get keys" (if your connected to the net)then click "next"; if the loader program has 'auto-roll' you can just
select "next"
25.click "write card"
26.wait till card writes then remove atmega card from programmer and remove the jumper from the two small pins on the atmega card,
then insert the atmega card into the receiver with the two small pins pointing DOWN (make sure the jumper is removed)
Wait at least 15-20 mins for receiver to boot up.
Note: if card doesn't program then start over by erasing with jeepers, always erase 2 or 3 times

SatJammin adapts the phoenix file to use jeepers to program your atmega. So, use jeepers to program.

You can't right now. BEV is switching back and forth between two MECM codes (only one of which the Phoenix program deals with) - even channels get one code, odd channels get the other. Tomorrow you may find only your even channels work.

Use Jeepers to ERASE your eeprom (alternate chip erase and normal erase). Do it 2-3 times apiece. I've never been able to determine if multiple erasures actually do anything but it can't hurt and only takes a few seconds. Then close Jeepers and run the Phoenix program.

try pulling card out and push back in. or use eraser to clean card contacts. or reprogram card and make sure "iso clock" is set to 4.50

Nookiedawg

go through the entire process of programming your atmega and when you have to choose 18.432 or 18.000 mhz there will be an iso clock set to 3.468 or something like that.. change it to 4.50, not 4.5 but 4.50 and it will work

late post above. gl with clock speed

01-13-2008, 08:57 PM
you don't need to set ppv value's. just pick the ppv and porn tier in the tier packs and you will get everything...

anyone having issues with missing files then look in the driver folder and install them. there is also support files included with the program.. this is sooo easy to use just have patients..

if the card is giving you issues programming then open jeepers first and do a few alt erases and then eeprom erases.. now open phoenix app and proceed to program and you will be fine.. i have multiple cards that work like this, slide in and 10 pin works fine..

as Twostep said:

bev will only get even or odd channels. not both.. thats because of MECM 40 and MECM 60 being run on different channels.. this is still better then nothing so enjoy while you can ;)

elbo, also maybe try putting a business card on top of the atmega to make it a little thicker. It helps the contacts make a better connection.

DIshfans, the $100 usb people have been up the last few months where you've been down so I wouldn't knock buying a usb atmega. Why not have several ways to test.

It works, thanks Phoenix. I have used the Phoenix loader posted and followed the instructions. The button Get Keys doesn't bring the right keys. Just go to Mili's keys greabber and copy there those showed by Mili's.
So Nice!!!
Thanks Phoenix team and everyone involved in this project. Thanks Mili!
You guys are really making a difference!

Elbobo, if your getting failed to enter program mode using jeepers, it's usually a connection problem. Not all printer cables are the same. Try a different one or just use a gender changer adapter and connect directly to the printer port.
