Smart Card Not Inserted Properly Atmega 128

I've used both Phoenix 1.2 (ISO speed set to 4.5) and the newer SatJammin and ROM's Jeepers fixes and I'm finding all is working well for a couple of hours...then a freeze (which I'm not complainin' 'bout) and then a black screen and I get the "Smart Card is not inserted properly" message on a 301.013 receiver.
I just unplug the receiver to reboot it and it'll go again for another couple of hours.
Anyone encountering this too ?? Any suggestions for the CNIC message??

ISO speed MUST be set at 4.50 not 4.5. Try using the correct ISO speed if that doesn't work, erase several times in Jeepers, then use Phoenix and when it finishes check fuses in Jeepers. Fuse settings need to be:

Lock bits FC
BLB12
BLB11
BLB02
BLB01


Fuse Lo AF
BODLEVEL
SUT1
CKSEL3
CKSEL2
CKSEL1

Fuse Hi 89
OCDEN
EESAVE
BOOTRST

Fuse Extended FF
M103C
WDTON

My card always did better with AE instead of AF. Try both and see which works better.

These setting will not work. At least for me.

That is correct, AE will still frezze but maybe not as much. FC is not possible it seems all the time, will not write sometimes FF comes back.

I don't know because I installed a CW 700 about an hour before the Atmega fix came out, so I am not using the Atmega. Everyone I have told to use 4.50 has had success getting the card to work so I guess it still applies. Wish I had waited on ordering the CW a little longer and saved myself some money, but like many others I lost faith that there would ever be a 128 fix. Glad it is up and working for everyone.

This is most likely only a temporary fix. Apparently it doesn't work completely with BEV. They are running two MECM so only half the channels work. Don't know if the atmega can do that. but if anyone can make it work,the Phoenix guys can.

Can anyone shed light on Smartcard not inserted??? ive tried all i have read, and still cant get it to run.. ive typed in 4.50 for xtal. typed in ppv/hi/low checked fuse/bits in jeepers they are as posted... one question is!!!!n when you do the wizard do you have to check off the little boxes as you go.. i havn't??. ive also erased card so many times in jeepers its a wonder its still there..
also when you type in ppv/hi/lo is it in the boxes [add]??? any help greatly apreciated guys.. tnx in advance. taf:mad:

Im still trying with phoenix. however one question i have is.. i looked into the files that come with the Prog, and in the support file i only see a pfg file for Bell??? is this normal or am i missing the one for dish??? taf..

Still trying guys. i decided to write an old wicked file to the atmeg, and machine loads up now and gets guide. also have the dish/home/nasa and angel channels working. rest are obviosly black!!! so at least i know its not the atmeg card screwed up.. went back to phoenix. program wrote fine. re insert to machine..

if your getting smart card not inserted correctly make sure your ird is flashed with no rsa keys (box keys). I had the same problem. I matched my receiver with a public tsop and flashed my receiver with jkeys then put my atmega with phoenix and the channles came on.

Assuming that your box is flashed with public #s to match the phoenix file, try cleaning the contacts on the atmega with an eraser. Try using a business card on the top of the atmega to make it fit a little tighter in the card slot.

Did you try new Phoenix 1.2.3.? There is also a Stajammin that is working for those who cannot use Phoenix. Also try taking the Atmega back to factory state with several programs that I cannot list here. I will PM you with my email. Email me and I will send you the factory state programs.

This is working for me using both 128 and 256, slot programmer, latest Phoenix. Igmore the battery stuff if you are not using an external battery.

Start Phoenix Program

Virginize Atmega card

Run wizard

Select Dish Network

Select Next

Select programs, several pages of them

Select No RSA Network

Select Rom 103

Select Your Crystal Freq

Select ISO 4.5 Freq

Get Keys

Write card

Remove battery

Remove Atmega card

Watch T V
