Try using jeepers, erase and alt. chip erase three times. That usually resets your fuses. If that don't work hope that someone smarter than me awnsers your post.

Try writing different pfgs to your atmega , either in Jeepers or Phoenix , alt and eeprom erasing before each attempt. This sometimes resets bits. Good luck.

Use jeepers and fix fuses first. should be ff ae( fine with a1 or af) then alt erase 3 times then erase 3 times. Check fuses again and they should be fine. Now you can use phoenix. Forget trying to changes fuses in phoenix, it never works for me and I get programming error

I use a program called ATmega128 factory restore. It runs in jeepers. I just erase a couple of times and it's good to go. If you can't find in the files, let me know and I will try to upload it. I downloaded elsewhere.

jeepers cant see your card?
Do you have a jumper on the card?
If you do, make sure that you jump it to program instead of run
Do not use phoenix until after you fix the fuses in jeepers first

no jumpers . i tried the method with jumpping pin 63 and 1 . it didnt help., it was a nice card untill i changes the fuse bits and wrote them back. as if i told it to kill itself.
mmh never again., was a red one too. the only red one i have ., such a loss.

If jeepers isnt seeing the lpt port, reboot computer and start jeepers again. If you still have any of those wires you were talking about, remove them. Make sure that the pins on your atmega are on the programmer properly.

thats easy and simple to fix ., just go to the file shop and under search put library files., phenix files support files ., and they will all come up.
install them and you will be all good.
