help please.

Can someone help me out. I know nothing about sat. system or programing. I have a Fortec star lifetime ultra that doesn't have a card. I have lost all my chanels. The guy who used to reprogram my box has diappeared. I keep reading about "106" but don't really understand. Is that a new satellite that dish has put in service? Is there anyway to re-program my box to get the chanels back? Or is there a system out there that I can buy that is working?

Any information you can give me is very appreciated.
