If someone had a sub with romcode and let's say a 311 cardless. and the machine went bad and he got another one 510, can he put the romcode on that one to use the remainder of the time left on the sub,.

I don't think so as you would be registering another cam and would have to pay for the additional cam.

each card has a unique to the card cam signature and that is what is registered. if that card goes bad you would need to register a new card and use another credit. also only the cam signature is registered, so you can put any image that you want on your registered cam and use it with other irds. the image on the cam does not have anything to do with the signature.

But he still needs to purchase an additional credit for the cam signature.

did you not see this part of my post. he may have unused credits he could use instead of purchasing more.

He is saying your card CAM ID Sig is the important part. For instance I have 2 receivers using the private bin and obviously 2 cards. I can reboot each machine and switch cards and it will work. If I put the private bin on any compatible receiver either of these cards would work on it. Your registered cam id sig (Last line on Romcode) is the important part as far as having time left on Romcode.

So in my case, the machine is a 311 cardless meaning the cam is on the card which is part of the machine, the machine is locked up, can't read the card, so this is a dead issue, card gone with cam, so the time i have left with romcode is losted.
now if i could get the card to read and save the info will the card cam be included
in the info i got from the card, and can i put that info on another card with the cam included,

if you extracted the cam from your 311, meaning mounting the chip on a bga board, it would still be registered and you could write the image from your other ird to it and use it that way. the physical card is registered, not the image on it. When I write tiers for any of my irds and use another blocker, i write my image im going to use onto my registered cam, program it with app, then clean and read and save with n2edit and write it back to the other card and apply a different blocker, this way all my tiers and channels are the same on all of my irds
i hope this helps a little

I do the same. You could buy an older receiver that is inexpensive and jtaggable to ride out the rest of what is left on your card with Romcode. That 311 like RG said would have to have the chip removed, unlocked and then programmed with Romcode but with its own cam sig. No offense but it is not that easy for a beginner. So consider that a dead issue. The question is, How long do you have left on Romcode and on ebay you could get a pretty cheap receiver that would work and you could sell the 311. That is what I would probably do if I had 6 months or so left w/romcode but I'm just spitballin here.....

Sorry...I misread a little. If the chip was in the 311 and the 311 is history then removing the chip with a heat gun and using it on another receiver is doable...... Sorry

if i were you guys, i would not put all of your credits on your cam. use your credits one at a time. dont use 3 credits on the same cam while it is still active. add credit to that cam when the other one runs out, if you buy 3 credits and put them on the same cam, which is 9 months, if something happens within the 9 months you have lost your credits, add the credits as they are needed. jus a headsup

I had a 6 month credi, purchased back in 11-12-07 exp 01-12-08, that means i have 01-22-08 to 05-12-08 remaining. only for one machine or 1 cam, and that's the cardless machine that's mess-up. i'm trying to figure out what you mean by all those credits 6months, Then you are saying 6 months equal 2 credits yea? I have another machine already, i am just trying to figure out if i could use the remained time on it.

sorry for that misinformation. there are other versions of this app and i was speaking out of school on your length of term and how your membership is defined. i should stick to just the app questions. there are some that sell credits and one credit is 3 mos, so you need 4 credits for a year, which is what i was referring to. sorry about that

Forget about all that.
A. Fix box if possible
B. Remove chip (pain in the ass for most) and use in other compatible receiver.
C. With new card and ird you could add the new cam ID to your Romcode account for a smaller fee than a new account of course.
D. Take it on the Jaw and kiss about all in all $30 goodbye.
