freezing on 256 programing

Need a little guidance,

I am trying the new twisted sister file on my atmega 256 I have cleaned the card aprx 15 times and it starts the program but when it reaches writing EEPROM the program just stops. I do not see the progress bar moving at all. I tried cleaning it as well and with the original jeepers and still no go. I placed it in Phoenix and virginized the card too to no avail. Any ideas are welcomed

Mine did that the first time I tried to program it. I erased the flash/eeprom a bunch of times using Jeepers and it worked after that. Does your Atmega 256 have a 24Mhz crystal or 18.432MHz?

often this can mean your computer or something is too slow
you not using windows 98 are you?

thanks for the feedback. I found pwr cycled the PC and retried to virginize via phoneix and full monty directly from there and it worked Just to answer the question if it can help others I am using XP

mine does that all the time go till writting the cam and freeze write the right fuse byte in it and will correct it its first ff,ae,89,ff try that it will write all the way good luck i hope i helped some one out

I want to also share with you i had a second card with same problem but black screen cleaned it an wrote it a few times nothing but black so i went and used Phoenix atmega loader 1.2.3 only to virginise the card fist detect it then do it, then went back to jeepers with the correct program cleaned it then went strat to full monty and wow right on just wanted to share progress with yas
