I read that it is highly impossible to kill the card...I'm having a problem!!!
I put the new satjammin256 ( I know it's not a 256 card) I was bored and wanted to play around..anyways, I erased it the 10 times programmed it then The ird says smart card currently not inserted right...Ok i seen that before had to reprogram it...But now I can't even get anything to work...Can't erase or do anything to it..Says FAILED TO ENTER PROGRAM MODE...
What did I do to it! Did i sent the fuse bites for a 256 not a 128? I don't know..

Here's a thought. You wrote a file for a 256 to a 128. Pretty much explains your problem.
You probably need to try jumping it. Find a schematic for where to jump locations on a 256. Worth a shot.

OK now that you have learned what not to do . Which type of atmega, jumperless or w/jumpers. make sure that if it is a jumper atmega to put it on program and alternate erase many time then erase, even program with another pfg, ( this time with a 128 pfg. ) If jumper less make sure to use the programmer for it ie a jumperless plug in type programmer not the slide in type. type different jeepers etc.

look for the Atmega Fix / Jumper Mod. You will have to do this to get it back, and this is no guarantee. It my be toast.

Jumper Mod is same for both cards, 128 or 256. Jumper the 2 points then open jeepers and do alt erase 3x, then do erase 3x, then check fuses, and write correct ones. Now remove jumper, and see if Phoenix or Jeepers will recognize.

Don't worry, I use mine to scrap ice on my car window, just re-programed it for locals on dick-net.......:D

I've lost locals on my atmega 128.
Thirty minutes and reloaded the last Phoenix and got the locals back.

Try to short out these pins with a paper clip and erase with jeepers at the same time. Works for me whenever I fuck mine up.:)

Did you try it with a paper clip first? Thats how I always do it, you might need somebody to hold it for you while you do the erasing.

It does do alter erase but i can take the card out and it still does an alter erase. It does it in like 1 second when it really goes through. If it takes like 5 seconds its not erasing the card.

if you are sure you did the jumper mod correctly, 100% sure.. then the card is dead, if you can get it to enter program mode.
I have 2 red 128's both won't enter prog mode tried shorting 1+63 with no luck. can someone direct me to atmega128 fatory restore or junior roba atmega fixup I can't seem to find them
