can't get atmega 256 24mhz to work. Satjammin

hi all,
been trying for two days now.
dish player 501, testing dick, atmega 256 with 24mhz crystal.
downloaded new patch file and satjamming. (old one from yesterday deleted)
(my atmega was working with phoenix before)
here's what happening -
if i don't erase and virginize the card in phoenix before programming with
jeepers, it gives me "not inserted correctly" bs.
if i do erase a few times and virginize in phoenix
then erase and altern. erase in jeepers,
run ppp.exe, cut and paste my ## to pfg (i tried both - type 1 and 2 files)
then i got sat signal acquiring, download prog. guide and...
black screen.
however
type 1 gives sound on ppv ch 503.
type 2 file gives me sound on all ppv's, but no othe channels
and i get only one picture - channel 500 which is ppv preview.
oh, and 103 which is the same pretty much
that's it.
if any1 has had experienced the same %@*& and overcome the problem, pls share.

Wish I could help since I do not have a 256,.. But maybe the fuse locks could help, anyone who has one can confirm or deny what the fuse locks should be. I know with regular at mega I had better results with Lock bits FC

i've been up since friday....use twisted sis atm. 256 24.mhz.....erased few times in alternative chip erase...then erased 5x....full monty and bingo....did it a few times with other files....no good...went back to twist. sis.

are you using private or public?

with twisted did you have to alter pfg file and if you did
did you use ppp or some other shit?

I am in the same boat as Alex - tried today using private numbers generated the required fields in PPP program - cut and pasted required fields into both PFG's provided by Satjammin to test both - nothing but black screen.

Same deal - lexus 24mhz 256 - worked fine before - reads and writes just fine - but no luck here either.

Any thoughts?

I found mine was just rolling real slow.
I was just getting black screen too, and I finally figured out
it wasn't downloading the correct keys, the last half of both keys was the same.

I copied and pasted the correct keys and it works great!

I've seen a few complain about priv info on a 501 giving the same error. Perhaps try norsa and see if that works. Sure, it's a pain to jtag but worth a try.

umean u cut and paste keys from "private section", right?
cuz there're two sets of keys -
public and private.
not on all sites though.
i tried both with no success

at this point i give up.
for three days was trying everything possible and no changes at all.
got to jtag it or wait for new phoenix relese if there's one =o(
