I had a dead 301.010 that I revived using Wall - now everything is OK, it works except strange green dots evenly spaced about 1" apart and they fill all the tv screen.
The menus are clear - only when I switch to channel I have those dots.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Any suggestions? Thanks.Does it happen immediately or does it happen after the ird gets a little hot? I have one that works fine once it is cold but once it gets hot it starts to freeze the picture put differnt colors on the screen and eventually lose complete signal strength. I was told that I may have some solder loose some where. This may be the case for you too.

No it happens as soon as I turn it on. Menus look OK though, just the channels.

That's what it looks like - green dots on top of the picture.
Could it be tuner problem ir corrupted TSOPs? As I said this receiver was dead when it arrived.

I had a 301-13 do something close to this once. Reloading the eeprom image corrected it on mine. Worth a try.

OK - looks like a bad chip. Reflushed and the same dots. Btw flash 1 gives me error on sector 34 in jkeys - had to program it in wall.

What is your build. Do you need another flash?

OK - it's back to dead again. It had tsop lock installed - I thought this may be a problem. I cut all the lock wires from the board - and now it will not power up.
Do they cut any traces on the mainboard when installing tsop lock?
