Bev 2700 & 3100

Hi all,

I just upgraded to a PVR from Bev, I still have my old 2700 & 3100 and was wondering which one would be the easy to setup with the USB Atemga 256? Would I need to jtag them? Do you think the 2700 is obsolete?

The 2700 is more stable and yep, it's old, but it will still work great. The 3100 is a better box, but the firmware now days has some issues specific to it and the 5100 boxes. I'd still go with the 3100. Why not set them both up if you no other use for them? Yes, you will need to jtag them even if it's just to get the private info off of the tsop's.

JT what's the best way to go. Use a Jtag Adapter so that I don't have to mess with the TSOP's?

I'd get an actual jtag before I got a jtag adapter, and yes, learn to mess with the tsop images. It's easy although a bit strange until you get the hang of it. There is a quick link to jtagging how-to on the quick link bars just below your user names.

The 2700 i think is wayyyyy easier, it might already have a hole in the bottom for the jtag. I have both and the 2700 has a lot less issues as mentioned above. the 3100's are like hot chicks, nice to look at but they come with alot more headaches;)
