Subbed to D*sh with a d*sh 500 DP Pro. Still have dish aimed at 110/119 with proper settings for my location. Which FTA receiver should be purchased that will work with current setup and not too much changes being required?

Thanks

Havent tried the sonic view but heard they were good
but I can say I have an vs ultra and pro and love them.
Support is good and very user friendly and with the usb port, is very easy to update.
Hope this helps good luck.

a lot of FTA units will work with your set up and yes a DISHPOR switch will work with FTA

will any extra switches, lnb, or dishes be needed? Was reading and saw alot of info on motors or something of that nature to make the dish move. Is this required?

No a motor is not needed unless you would like to get more orbital locations. If you what locals you will need 129. In addition, if you what to get mpeg 4 HD you will also need 129. Also, if you get 129 you will be able to get all local, thus, having your own Sunday ticket for NFL football. To get 129 you can install a dish 1000 or 300.

Unless i misunderstand things SonicView and Viewsat are very very closesly related. And one of the reasons SV has had fixes come out before viewsat was simply to up sv sells. The last couple of ECMS they have switched back to releasing Viewsat files first. I guess Viewsat sells were beginning to take too much of a hit. There have been alot of talk about Nfusion and Captiveworks as well. I think they both use IKS when the bins are down. But to be honest, if i were gonna use a system to get TV it wouldnt be IKS i dont need TV so bad to take that kind of crazy risk. Pansat has been on top of things for the past couple of months of ECMs as well as Coolsat. The viewsat/sonicview teams seem to be the most dedicated to supporting their product from what ive seen and read over the past couple of YEARS. That kind of product support would seem hard to beat to me. There is a reason they are the best selling fta manufacturer, customer support.

able to gt all the locals on 129 ??mmmmmmmmmmmmmm I thought miost were on 110..and you cant get all of them on thre ..you need to be in the footprint area....
As for the actual FTA receiver.....I have a pansat clone...have had it for 3 years.....been a great value for the buck...just converted to a 2700 model and runs excellent.....The bins coming out now are super super fast...easy to set up and get going.........
How long will it last???Who knows but if you do get one ..do some reading ...get a half decent one so you can actually use it for what it was ment for when the sky actaully does fall.....Your setup will work fine for 110/119.....Most everything you want are on those. (not HD)..If you go to buy an HD one make sure you know what your getting...Some require you to purchase an additional board to go into the receiver......And if you can get a cheap motor /bigger dish go for it..Youll have an enjoyable hobby looking for the other birds..I havnt got one yet..Im waiting to move to the coountry before I set one of those babies up

Can a legacy 2700 be converted to a FTA receiver? If it can then will a dish 500 and a DP plus lnb work with this converted receiver?
Thanks

I know understand a Dish Pro Plus LNB can't work on a DN 2700.
Can a DP Plus Dual LNB with a Dish 500 and a Dish 301 (single LNB) link
together on a 4x1 DiSEqC for a FTA receiver.

Thanks
