I have my starchoice elliptical dish fitted with a bev arm, with a perpendicular bar at the end fitted with lnb's. I am able to find 91 and 82 for bell using my bell receiver as a guide for the signal, but am unable to find dish 119 and 110. I live on the west coast of newfoundland.

Can someone point me in the right direction as to which side of the arm the lnb should go to releative to the bev lnb. Also i am aware of skew angles, but im not sure if the skew angles on the starchoice dish are the same as the websites i have visited.

cornerbrook

True Azimuth: 230.16
Skew angle 117.7
dish elevation 20.5

It says skew angle of 117.7, but where is the zero mark. say for instance my dish was straight up and down, does the skew angle have to be 117.7 degrees from that posistion?

being newfoundland you are really north so things will have a lower elevation, sats are southward being geo stationary, maintain same position over the earth location ( no point in having a moving target )

anyway 82 and 91 are the same positions apart as dish 110 and 199, the skew elevation and azimuth are different. dish is approx 15 to 20 degrees to the right ( when standing behind the dish looking where the dish is pointed and 10-20 degrees down. try and find 119 on the left lnb ( same view as above, skew will be cw 20 degrees. anyway 119 on right bottom

If you are behind the dish, 119 would be to the left of 91 and 110 would be to the left of 119.

If you are behind the dish, 119 would be to the left of 91 and 110 would be to the left of 119.

Sorry to disagree but from behind dish 119 to a move to the right and down from 91 and 110 would be the lnb on the right side of 119.

Easy enough to do.

I do like Newfies, good honest Folk and the brunt of jokes <next to Polish>. Thing is just use a regular $40 round 18" to grab Charlie.......why make life difficult with skew angles and whatever?

The angles are all close but if you put the other one on the Leeward side of the house...no snow or ice accumlation, Bye <Newfie term & he'll get it>, then you have a backup when the Weather turns to Sh*t and that's quite often this time of the year in NFLD!

I really believe in the K.I.S.S. principle, have enough difficulty dealing with my Wife and Kids, plus Business Problems...........so don't have time for this Sh*t.... for the want of $40.

Suggest you take my suggestion to heart......believe me. it's easier.
<and wouldn't Lie to a Newfie.......don't need my ass kicked ;-) >

Depending on how far north in NFLD you are, a 18" dish might be inadeqate to pull in Charlie. I need at least a 36" for 110 and can't get a strong, constant signal on 119. Might be the fact it has been -20 or lower for the last 14 days, but I'm not bitching!

for 119 and 110 the dish has to be pointed at the horizon It almost looks like it is hitting the ground. If you are trying to get bell and dish together forget it

Not true actually! I have received 110, with 82 and 91 on my SC elliptical. Took quite awhile to pull them in, but it is possible. I am sure someone closer to the equator would have better luck in getting all three on one dish. It is low, but not pointed at the ground, just the nature of the dish.
