I would go with the Sonicview 8000HD if you are thinking about picture quality.

Purchasing an FTA unit off that auction site is the last thing one should consider. If screwed...what's the complaint.........I can't Flash it to STEAL encrypted Sat. Signals?

The $eller will reply, the guy is pointing at the wrong Sat(s) or has corrupted the firmware.....Sorry No Warranty!

Frankly, those 'thinking' about it should be using some sort of EMU setup/Atmega or plastic with one of Mili's maxmels and a $30 outdated computer to do the 'heavy lifting', why look for problems and as it could go without support with regards to FTA???

One member here has a tagline that reads something like free tv aint friggin' cheap and so right! ;-)

lets see my free tv has cost me mmm 149 for the uiit 10 bucks for an extra lnb and 20 bucks for two burnt out disq switches..179 bucks for 3 years?? I think the question of the thread was which FTA unit does he want to buy
Go pansat/or viewsat or one of the many clones good support..files are always here and easy to do

What receiver is suggested/recommeneded for bringing in Dicknetwork mpeg4 HD? Can the Coolsat 8000 handle it or does it need an added module?

I think they all will need the addition of a module in order to pull in MPEG4.
