I used the latest Phoenix Loader 1.2.5 to program my atmega 128. After doing so I kept getting the "Card not inserted correctly" nag. I tried re-inserting the card many times and still had the nag. After about an hour of that I decided to try the new SatJammin and amazingly enough the error dissapeared. Does anyone have any idea as why the Phoenix program would cause this error?
However, I have black screen using SatJammin. I am using No Rsa, and box keys on IRD match. Updated receiver to latest firmware and still have black screen. However, I do get channel 101. Good guide, no red.
I realize this is 2 different problems using 2 different programs but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
did you set clock at 4.500?????????

Erase the Atmega in Jeepers.
3x Alt Erase and 3x Erase.
Then try programming Card.
Check Fuses. There are alternate settings that work for some.
And check that he clock speed is set to 4.50 mhz
Next question. What iRD are you using? Have other files and methods worked in the past?

<did you set clock at 4.500?????????>
Not sure what you mean. This could be my problem. Can you explain?

I erased several time before programming. I am using a 301 013. I have used this atmega in the receiver in the past but it has been about a year since I used it. Receiver is updated to latest firmware.

Run Wizard.
Select provider.
Select Tiers.
Select Keyset.
Select Xtal Settings. This is where you change the line ISO Clock to 4.50

Phoenix Loader should work 90% of the time, there is apparently a slight difference in how Jeepers writes to the Atmega vs. how Phoenix writes.
Typically Black Screen is caused by:
Wrong or Blank Keys, sometimes they will roll and vdeo will pop on after 20min or so.
Wrong ISO CLOCK speed setting. Default is 3.68mhz. You need to set to 4.50
On Sk receivers sometimes people will leave FFFF old boxkeys checked in GenDT08 and that will cause issues when creating a flash that is going to be used.

I would get the "card not inserted correctly" when I had the switch on my atmega to Full Monty. If you have a switch check it.

Did you give it time to roll?

I changed my clock speed (using Phoenix) to 4.50 and I no longer get the "card not inserted correctly" error. But I still have the blank screen problem, just like I do with SatJammin. Several here have posted whether or not I let it roll. I will let it sit for a half hour and see what happens.

running 128 DN here on 301.10 with the new satjammin
took about 5 to 10 minutes to roll
if you have black screen but can see the channel guide and all seems normal ya I would give it a chance to roll

I let it sit for about an hour and still have black screen. You would think the box keys would be the problem but they seem to match. I am using No Rsa keys and selecting No Rsa on Phoenix and SatJammin.

Make sure you have the Program box set for SatJammin 8.4 DN and not PVT SatJammin 8.3 DN. Also check your fuse bits and key settings ( no rsa)
You may also have to do an alt chip erase 3 or 4 times. Don't waste your time waiting 30 mins for a roll. 10 to 15 mins should produce a result. If not redo the card using Jeepers to clean and set it up. Then go to SatJammin and program it.

Not sure what you mean by checking fuse bits and key settings.

My Fuse bits before programming are FF-A1-89-FF. After programming they are FF-AF-89-FF. From what I have read I believe these are correct.

Well, Finally got it. My receiver was the problem.
I noticed on the System Info (Screen one) block "d" it showed reciever info as "301 Commercial" and Software version is X346 (instead of P346). Someone suggested that this was my problem and that the receiver had apparently been "black tagged".
So I decided to try a 3800. Got it up and running with my atmega in about 15 minutes. I tried Phoenix, SatJammin and DN 128 pfg file and all worked perfectly. After all day yesterday and half the day today it ended up being a "black tagged" receiver. Im just glad to know I was doing everthing right from the start, card wise anyway. :D

Having an X instead of P means nothing in regards to your problem. Only means you had a commercial tier. That was not the fault.

Then what do you suppose the problem was. As I said, trying a different receiver fixed my problem. What do you mean I had a commercial tier? The firmware on the receiver was fine until I let it update. I will find an up to date firmware for my receiver and flash it. If this fixes my problem then I would have to say I had a firmware issue.

I have no idea what your problem was. All im saying that a P and X only designate a normal receiver from a commercial receiver (meaning it has commercial tiers).
Program your atmega with a commercial tier, write a virgin tsop, let it stream update, and you'll again get an X flash.

I understand what you mean now. Im really curious as to why my atmega is working in my 3800 but not the 301. Im going to download a different firmware and let it update again and see what happens.

Leave your firmware alone. You have the file you put on it to get to this point?
If so, do this:
Open GENDt08
Where it says FILENAME (under TSOP Tab) click on the folder and select your TSOP / Firmware file.
Click on the CARD INFORMATION Tab and select a CLEAN.bn102
Now go back to the TSOP Tab
Check USE SECONDARY KEY
Uncheck FFFF OUT OLD BOXKEYS
Click Fix CRC (should be highlighted in RED)
Now along the bottom of GENDt08
Click TSOP RSA
Click Card RSA
Click CALC SK
Click Save Card
Click SAVE KEYS
Now Save that bn102 and the keys in a safe spot (ie- make folder Living Room 301.013)
When you run Phoenix, select private keyset, then select that bn102 you just made and continue on programming card.
I know this sounds wierd maybe to some, but I have one box that was converted to public #'s for easy testing, except public files never work unless I use the bn102 that is married to the flash on it. I kept getting black screen over an over and finally before reflashing it again this is what i tried and it worked.
Not that hard to do, and may save you the trouble of having to reflash.

empulse,
Before you posted this I was told of a file called "No RSA Mod SK Bypass". I downloaded it and patched the .fs script to my tsop bin then re-flashed my tsop with it and I am now up and running using the No Rsa keys on my 301 013.
Thanks for tip. I will try this when I convert to using my own private keys, which is what Id rather do.

301.013 are finicky. Glad you got it up. I run SK on most everything 5xx and 301.xx.. wasn't sure if you were dt08 or sk.
