301 newbie help

i just got 2 rom102 rev103s in there 301 rcvrs they are ex subs what do i need an iso programer? or are these cards a lost cause

You need an unlocker like the Nexus sold here.

I would also invest in an ISO to to read and write the cards after they are unlocked.

Rev 103 easy to open, you can use an older unlocker with 4053 chips, most new unlockers will have 4619 chips for opening revs higher than rev 105

you can get away with just the white nexus that mili sells in teh store, the new rm_1a program writes to cards with the unlocker and i have used it with success. no glitches or locked cards on my end. they got it down to a science using a unlocker to program cards. If you are tight on cash just buy the white nexus in mili's store and make sure you have a serial cable and power supply to power the thing up with and connect it to your computer.

I don't share Crazy1_79's enthusiasm for using an unlocker to read/write ROM cards. If you do just a little bit of searching, you will find MANY cases of people having bad writes and getting unknown provider on their cards while writing using a loader.

For a little bit of security, why not spend the $30 and get a device specifically made for writing the cards??? I would ALSO stay away from using NagraEdit and stick with N2Edit!

Do an OneStepClean.n2scr in N2edit with your ISO reader, that cleans the card back to rev 103. Thyen save several images and name them clean or something.
Then you are ready to tier and blocker one of the saved bins.

allright did a onestepclean with n2edit with my iso, saved the image several times. followed your link . i guess i need a blocker, i tried mrteirworks added my channels ( iguess i dont have to bother with the box keys since the card is a ex-sub married to the ird i am using) followed the directions from the how to on the 102 programing forum. added a blocker from the files section. wrote to card. tried to read card again and it reads . shouldnt i have to unlock to read again?

all right needing more help still. heres what i did mr tier works created tiers.
n2edit 2.58 opened and cleaned image 2 times opened patch code space v 16 (3-28-08) applied. n2 edit says patch applied successfully. saved then wrote to card. then i test to see if card locked. no go still able to read without unlocking. if some one could help me with what i am doing wrong i would be very appreciative.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but reading and writing with a stable clock via a loader IS the safest way. RM/RSX1 is the first "public" way that does it correctly. :)

got it going. had the wrong keys i guess. All i did was changed my keys today with backdoor utility put in ird , did download. watching tv now:-)

ok i am working on my second card, when i try to update keys with codesace backdoor utility it update of idea key 86 failed update of idea key 96 failed. any thought on what i am doing wrong?

Password prolly needs to be entered into the utility
backdoor pasword on the left.

got it . was some tihng with the way my blocker was patched used nagra edit 5.2 to patch then n2edit 2.58 to write. updated keys with backdoor utility woked fine.

Good for you glad you got it back.
FYI you need to write the blocker first then the patch.
Also notice @ the bottom of CS blocker is the 106 keys.
I keep these updated (on blocker) with current ones and save the changes.
101 keys are also there but If you update them on blocker the 96 key is on top and the 86 key is the lower one.
Better to just use the backdoor utility (that ensures all is well if working)

10c open took 6+ hours but popped. now when i program cant get any thing but 005 nag this is on a 510 is there some thing i need to do different . i wrote the same way as my 301 it is working. but all i get on the 510 is black channels and the 005. any help????

still having trouble heres what i did. started with a subbed 10c it took 6:14:28 with rm_1c white nexus dips 2&5, factory ohms, 9v 300 ma. opened with n2edit 2.58 saved did onestepclean saved, reset atr rev 102 rom103 cleaned 3 times saved, open mr tier works set exp date, keys, local remap, timezone, wipe tiers, set ppv, add the other channels, modify bin, save. open n2edit 2.58 open saved image from mr tier works, patch codespace v16 then its hot fix v10 then v14 write to card, update keys with back door with back door utility just to be sure put in ird acquires sat then 005 ????? i have a 301 running now using the same procedure i just described i am stuck??

You only use one patch on CS don’t use the v14 that was a while ago and I think it is miss labeled anyway.
If you look it prolly has the wrong 106 key also.
You should be using

BTW if you had applied CS blocker first then v14 then v10 2of4 it would have worked becouse the last patch would have over writen the first with the right 106 key. The other fly in the otment is that you dont want to add extra code to blocker by applying the extra patch. Also the v14 is the wrong code to work anyway. Take a look below

start with something simple...a 301-010 is the easyest to learn with, get a rom102...and a nexus unlocker to open the card also get an iso programmer and read, read ,read....oh by the way...did I mention READ.....dish will be swapping cams soon so I recommend you wait a few month and read in the meantime......Giz
