It appears that this site isn't allowing anonymouse to connect to it. So what's with that?

Milli
I too use to be able to just come in and read without logging in. I would only log in if I had something constructive to post. Has their been a policy shift on your site given the recent DOS attack?

Nothing has changed. You got on to make this post didn't ya? There might be an issue with Opera, but I haven't heard of one yet. I do know the ONLY reason a proxy would be blocked is if one guy was using it to harass this site, and I don't think there are any banned IP's at this time.

I got on by using NO PROXY...as I am right now...no proxy...and OperaTor uses a different ip address every time you use it, so have no idea why my address is blocked using it. Sometimes the nag will go away if I reload the page, and it always lets me see the pages, just not the posts when it has "banned" the current ip addy.
I'll try shutting it down and restarting it next time that happens and see what the result is.
BTW, thanks for the reply.

i say it's a good idea to make you log in. keeps unwanted lookers from looking.(dish this meens you) that way if something comes up it can be narrowed down to a specific person. a virus fake bogus looping scripts ect. it would be to easy for a attacker to come in a invade our space.
i used to get pinged on a daily basis.it's seems to have stopped for now.
I'd lean towards something not jiving with Opera. Try a different browser. Maybe the free proxies Opera is using are over loaded? I'm almost positive we don't have any IP's on the banned list at this time. We haven't had any issues that would justify that in a long time. Most of us log on with proxies too, and your the only report of difficulties.

C&P from the front page:
"Online Users: 124
77 members and 47 guests"
Hint: It's the 47 data point that is pretty important to your query.
HTH.
