Error at 99% sounds like vid mod not active.
DQ5 problem is normally solved with the OJ1 jumper.
Sometimes the switch has to be flipped off and on a few times to make contact, but do it UNPOWERED.
Please say you never switched that mod off or on with the receiver powered......I have seen too many 510 ruined that way.
The only 510s I have seen that were any trouble or ruined are ones that human error was the root of the problem, and yes I have screwed some up too, all it takes is a simple mistake or oversight..

Josh, put a finger on the CPU and flash chips, if either are very hot, it dead.
Flipping vid mod switch while powered will send spikes and kill a CPU, where the DCU is located, seen it too many times. Often it will heat afterwards but sometimes will just die.

From the drop down menu what IRD are you selecting?
What happenes when you erase both flashes and then write #2 flash back?

That is a good suggestion, I had forgot all about that trick, I have used that too.
Seems wall grabs control in a different manner than jkeys does, and will sometimes help jkeys get back in.
Open Wall, leave it open, then open jkeys, if you get a good response, close Wall and proceed in jkeys.
Wall was written specifically for the LSI processor in a 301/3100 but it does help jkeys sometimes.

Duc errors are usually associated with a loose wire on the JTAG or Vid Mod, but somethime you can get past them if you re-boot the computer.
