I have been reading and reading and i think i'm getting overloaded with all the info. It seems as though there is more than one way to gwt the DN systems up and running.

I managed to pick up a 4700 DN receiver with a A2013 card for $8 local swapmeet. I managed to make a Jtag and got the boxkeys.

Do i need this card or can i just program the eeprom with the required info to test the system?

If some one could point me to what to do next, wether to get an emulator, iso programmer.

Thanks

You need both a receiver and a card or card substitute like USB atmega or maxmel emulation, armulator just to name a few.
Yes many ways to get it done.
ISO programmer is a must have for anyone in this hobbie.
Not to certain about your card# there but you need a yellow rom 102 to use (plastic) or some other device that can be emulate it.
If you have a 102 it needs to be unlocked or broken into so you can access it to add your own info.
Or buy one that is open already
Unlocker is needed to unlock and always a risk of destroying card while trying to open it.
Maxmel emulation in the most reliable configuration requires a 102 card an ISO and a computer with 2 serial ports.
Plastic or rather, rom 102s and emulation with a card in my opinion are the 2 best ways to go. If emulation goes down you can always use the card and blocker. You can always spend 100.00 and purchase a USB atmega, your less likely to break it in the learning process. hope some of this helps, but remember No risk no reward.

The guide above "ROM102 programing" has plenty of good information for you.

Yes, there are MANY ways to test DN

Great work! You can use that 4700, But the blue card you have (ROM10) hasn't been used to test in quite a while - it's practically obsolete.

Many people can suggest to buy an Atmega256 or Armulator or other emulator card, but for my money, if I were you- I would get a ROM102 (yellow card), an unlocker, and an ISO programmer. Milli sells them all here. (The card you can probably find locally much cheaper).

Do a lot of reading and you will soon be enjoying the fruits of your efforts.

Good luck.

I would suggest that you buy your card from someone in the testing community and not EBay or such.

Often times you can find an open ROM102, rev 103 and can avoid the additional $75.00 for an unlocker. Later you will want one, but not first thing I think.

Well i just checked a 311 i hav and its 102 rev 289? Now if i have read correctly i can pull the chip and attach it to a card and with the nexus unlocker/iso programmer will be able to get up and running?

Sounds like you have a plan / you can use a nexus unlocker as an ISO and some
peep never have a problem. Others end up with ice scrappers and in your case
an icam dont even make good scrappers lol. I would suggest only useing N2edit2.58
with a nexus that is flashed with NewdRS and used as ISO.
If you can just buy an ISO you will be glad you did.
