Hi guys, I had a problem the past 2 days with connecting my dish 1000.2
with my sonicview 8000. (For reference I have read the idiots guide to
sonicview 8000) Fist I must say that this is the first time I have ever
tried to set something like this up, so I am very inexperienced. I have
read the forums for 1 week before I decided to pick this combination of
gear, and did tons of google research to try and get settings and what
not for the dish and receiver. I am not trying to connect to 129 for
now because i don't have the 8psk adapter. Here is what I have done so
far.

I have secured the sat, and leveled it properly. I used the instruction book to get the Elevation (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=71) 47, sku 96 and azim 173 for las vegas and have locked those accordingly on the sat.

I put an rg6 cable less then 50ft from port 1 of the 4 LNB (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101) ports on the sat and put it through to the LNB (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101) in on the sonicview 8000.

I have updated to the latest rom 277p multiple times to make sure and I
have also update the latest soft patch which i was told is only need
for BEV (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=6) but just incase...

I then to the dish settings on the receiver and selected

sat: echostar 7

LNB (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101) type: OCS-DP

LNB (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101) Freq: 11250

22Khz: off

LNB (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101) Power: on

transponder: 12239

search: all

network search: on

Diseqc (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=10): Port 1

Motor: Disable

Legacy Switch: off

There are 2 separate signals showing one is signal the other is
quality. Can someone please explain the difference because I cant find
it in the instruction book.

Anyways, my signal strength stays pretty constant at 66 and when I switch ports on the Diseqc (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=10)
is goes to about 75 with slight variation. As far as the Quality meter
is pretty much dead on 0. I moved the sat left and right pointing at
the south Direction (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=73) (azm 173) and i end up with nothing. Really weird thing was that when I put it Diseqc (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=10) option on port 3 and played with adjusting the az/Elevation (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=71) I ended up picking up nimaq 1,3 91W at 95 quality. Occationally I pick up nimaq when the Diseqc (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=10) is disabled but nothing gives me echostar no matter what, I tryed adjusting the Elevation (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=71), sku, azim slightly but 0 on the quality meter.

I then tried to get 110 with all the same settings except i change the Diseqc (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=10)
port to 2 and the transponder to 12224. No luck picking anything up...
No luck even changing ports to everything and moving the sat around.

(1) Can someone explain to me whether My settings are wrong or if I am missing something?
How is it that the only sat I can pick up is nimaq 91W?

(2) Do i need to buy a separate adapter from the sattilite because from what I can see in the manual it says the LNB (http://www.abadss.com/forum/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101)
port 1 is for 119, port 2 for 110 and port 3 for 129 port 4 is for
another sat. or is one cable hooked to port 1 capable of getting all 3?

(3) When I try to delete a satalite from the dish settings it wont let
me. I wanted to remove all but the ones I needed. Does anyone know how
this feature works?

(4) When someone says I need to max the 119, do they mean the signal or
the quality or both? (signal tends to never change much)
