there are a lot of 6 mth, 1 yr. subscription blocker software out there, how do you determine which one is reliable? and what are the deciding factors based on? As I'm tired of programming my amega.
And I need a smart card reader, what is a a popular one? I prefer a simple one, perhaps one that c/w USB rather than serial, if possible

If you are going to "give up" and go ahead and pay..... I would get the LEAST length of time at the lowest cost.
Most "private" blockers are not that much better than the public ones that are out (there ARE exceptions).
Remember to take into account the fact that the current N2 hacks will not work once the providers switch to a new card (assuming the new cards have not been compromised by that time).

That doesn't really help the guy that started the thread. I have cards that have NO blocker (and never took a Rev update) that have been running for 3 months without a problem.
He's asking for recommendations for a private blocker...can you recommend "yours"? Or is it a "private" private blocker?

No. I don't think that it's a big mystery as to what his motives were.
