invalid card problem

I have a bell 5800 got it a few months ago and gave it to a friend to get working for me . Just got it back and when i plug it in now with the card in all i get is "the smart card currently inserted is not valid with this reciever" now i am wondering if my card has been screwed up or something else i have noticed that my card is a rom 11 revb08 and from reading i see they arent programable when i ull the card out i get the sys info. when i put the card back in i cant get the menu to check signal strentgh etc etc just says invalid card...
