I do not believe the spotbeam problem is related to tiers on your card. My belief is that the software for the USB256 has a bug in it that showed up in January. For me, the exact same tier that works on plastic and once worked on the USB256 now produces a black screen for all locals in one entire market. I get everything else just fine. We need help from Fab5 and he's been aware of the problem for weeks now. Some spotbeam local markets work for all, others work for none.

You could get locals by using a tier program such as Dchat_Tiermaker, MrTierworks, DarkTierGen, etc.

You could get locals by using a tier program such as Dchat_Tiermaker, MrTierworks, DarkTierGen, etc.Tier programs will not help me because its not a tier problem. I have the proper tier. Worked fine until January on the USB and still works on plastic. The channels are in the guide, just come up black.

try messing with the BLACKOUT STRING. instead of just entering the last byte example

worth a shot . i could be talking out my yoo hoo cause i dont have a 256 but thats what i would do if the tiers are correct. thats why it's testing.
I think there might be a bug or something with these version since Jan. I've tried everytier program I can find and still do not get locals. Theres alot of othere people with the same problem.

Yea, I have the same problem. I have tried everything I read about but nothing worked. I guess we'll just have to wait for a fix. Luckly the 128 cards are working and I can get locals with it.

Any suggestions are always welcomed by those of us with the problem. In my case, I am using the actual blackout string for my area on my USB256 card. The same tier and blackout string on plastic gets the channels I cannot get with the USB. That's why I believe it's a USB256 software problem.

Yea, there's more to it then that. I use the same program to run ST19XL as I use on my USB Atmega except I change the .cor to .bn102 and I get no locals when I am playing with my USB Atmega. Sure would be nice if that would get fixed.
Oh, and I use Mr Tierworks to generate the tiers.

Know this tier issuse has nothing to do with what we can add or not. There is an issue with the usb program which does not allow the addition of tiers. They seem to be slow fixing this issue but it could be worse. As long as I manually change the keys, its working and that is saying a lot for this baby.

Interesting news here. My spotbeam locals that have been out for months with the USB card are BACK. I check them after each new MECM implementation and after each new version of the USBAtmega software. Today, to my amazement, my spotbeams are back up with the USB 256 card. I would be interested to know what's up around the country.
