 I have had this card for a couple of months. when I 1st got it seemed so simple. Tried to program with no good result then read some more figured out what I was doing wrong and got a couple of weeks out of it. Have tried the last several version and just keep getting card not inserted properly. or no smart card inserted. Programing as instructed goes through all checks normal. No special tiers loaded just plain Jane. Really at a lose with it. See a lot of posts about this problem but no fixes. Somebody tell me how to test the card for a defective card or a programing problem. I am not in to bashing and been testing all sorts of stuff for a long time.

I have seen with atmega's that sometimes the contacts don't make contact with reciver contacts as they should. Sometimes putting a buisness card on top of atmega will fix that. Also I have had to sand some of the plastic off the end of an atmega to get it to slip a little further into the receiver to make contact. Check to see if your making contact if you have another receiver try it. Also make sure your placing it in with the contacts facing down I have had peeps put them in upside down. Just some idea's. You might need to exchange it for a different one.

detect card,erase 3x,write eeprombin,write avr256,put new keys in & write keys 4x ??
There is a help menu on there. I may be wrong but I thought it was detect, erase, write AVR256, THEN the last thing is to writebineeprom

Try using a rubber pencil eraser to clean the contact pad if that does not work you will have to wait for new software:)

I also tried doing the check switch trick someonelse suggested. I have tried the business card trick. This card did work and work fine once but have tried re-installing drives, probably the last 10 bins with same problem. Will try all of these ideas just to get it working.

The atmega 128, 256 and the rom 102 with no rsa work great when they are working on these receivers.

Everyone has advise, and some is good but ! I dont think they see what you mean. I think I know exactly what U mean - and what I've found is---that unpluging the receiver & like some say reinserting it a couple times --also push it in with your finger as to hold it in as far as it can go and see if that dont get it to come up on screen and start the count that it does(than let off with your finger), sometimes the pins in the card socket dont line up and an erraser wont work its like the usb isnt in all the way--thats what i get, & it takes a couple times to get it going. You could also open the receiver and pop open the card socket to inspect to see if what I'm saying is whats wrong with yours & ck. for obstructions.

Actually, pencil erasers have a tendency to leave a slight residue. I use a pen eraser (though I'm not sure where you would find one now-a-days), which leaves no residue at all.
Put if you don't have a pen eraser, definitely use a pencil eraser, just try to wipe the surface with a dry cloth afterwards.

Just to let you know what I have found. It comes up the card not inserted correctly and I leave it alone. After about a minute it comes up and does what it is supposed to do. Found that out the hard way. Give it a try, it worked for me.
