Re-programming with private keys

I was given a 3100 receiver running Atmega 128 DN private keys but no information. I am not sure how to re-program. Can I just read card in Jeepers or Phoenix and full monty? or could I change to public keys easily? I have a 2700 running Atmega 128 DN public keys with Phoenix right now so I know a little about programming. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try a read and full monty, i know it worked for me in the not too far past. if it dont, flash the receiver with the public numbers and your back in tv land.
