OK guys...l it's working with PAL 2.2.9. Like Empulse suggested:
- Umplug receiver for a while (15 - 30 min)
- Erase ATmega with Jeepers 3 or 4 times
- Load PAL2.2.9 w/MECM40
My ATmega128 worked in 301.013 by following these steps.
Thanks to the Phoenix team for their efforts!!

Then to wizard."Mega 128" then "DN" then "check Mark" everything..I didnt "ADD PPV" then "No RSA DN" then "18.432 Mhz ---3.6864 (ISO) "then " Get Key" then next on "MECM"( all blank) then checkmark "Output to custom pgf file" with checkmark on "output File" and "verify writes" then Press "Make PFG". Hello guys, I successfully programmed my atmega 128 using PAL 2.2.7 but I get an error "Your smart card not inserted properly" Any ideas? Pfg with jeepers works flawlessly. Even in the past, I tried using PAL older versions, same error. Am I doing some thing wrong? Same card works fine with Jeepers pfg file. Please advise.

Peter548,
I used to get this error when programming Atmega's. It has something to do with the FUSE bits.
To solve it, erase your Atmega128 in JEEPERS (Do both an alternate AND a regular erase) before using the wizard in Phoenix Atmega Loader. Then, when in the wizard, when asked for a 'speed', choose 4.50 (the zero at the end is VERY important!!)
Good Luck!
