Atmega 256 failed to enter program mode - need help

I was using ATMEGA 256 EFA FIX for jeepers a few days ago to program my Atmega 256 card. Up to this point card was working great. When I began to program the card the progress bar stopped moving. So I re-started Jeepers 256 again and the same thing happend. Now I get Failed to enter program mode in Jeepers and no card in Phoenix program.

My Atmega 256 is the 10 pin style. I tried some of te jumper fixes and Junior Roba but still no go. Is there any other way to reset or virginize the card?

I saw somewhere a file for jumping pin #1 and another pin on the 256 chip, but cant seem to find tat to try. Any help would be appreciated.

Still didn't work. Is there a way to "Glitch" the Atmel 256 chip?

try using a powered loader for the atmega. Look for the USB Mod Power Hack or whatever people call it, it uses the 5v supply (and (-)gnd) from USB to supply 5v for programming as LPT ports are sometimes unreliable. Also sometimes, megas just die. I know some will say they are never truly dead, but what else do you call it when you can't read/write to it..?

If the jumper mod is no good for you, there is one other way that is similar to the jumper, it uses a spot on the loader (i think bypassing a resistor) to jumper to the card, but as to what pin on the loader bottom you solder one end of the jumper too.. i am not sure as most loaders are different.

if you have another 256 working or 128 that works incert hit erase when erase starts switch to locked card finish erase [may take a few try's ckeck lock bit's between each try to see if you can change if so good to go] [slider loader] 128 , 256 work the same only in this way to unlock [cheers]
