522 hard drvive died [Archive]

Hi, brother has a 522 and the hard drive died last week, can I swap it out with 120 GB from the 510? if so does it need to be married and how do I do that? Thank you for any help

0415 first 0412 then 0415. Use new 508 HD to new 501 for initial download. No problem when put back to 508 for initial download.

0422 Improperly formatted drive
0439 a) HD set to Slave, fix set it to Master ! b) Try to replace IDE cable.
0440 Drive not supported by firmware
0457 *NO HARDDRIVE* Check cable make sure there connected! If that Fails it DEAD! Replace CABLES OR HARDDRIVE! Also check that drive is set for master rather than slave. Check for SMART errors also.
