Had a bad lighting storm come through I think my 501 is fried. Lost my pinball power supply, air purifier, and two fans as well.

I was running st19 on a 501 w/ private #s. that emu is fried it does not work in anything

No matter what I use the 501 gives me SNIC. w/ plastic and with a working emu setup. Made sure the TSOP was OK Re-flashed as well. I have another emu setup fired up st19 and slide in the card it makes communication for a sec, scrolls one line then stops. It seems the card slot or something on the board got fried. Is there some kind of buffer chip that controls the card slot area?

Is it a door stop now? Doh!

Does anyone know what to look for or what to trace it back to?

My next thing is to solder the emu straight to the board not sure if that would help.

thanks

well if plastic doesn t work either your emu is probably ok, which leaves the ird. Used to be a zener diode near the sat in terminal on older boxes that got fried...not sure about yours.
You might try a sector erase and see if it will restream, then try.

Been there, still there LOL.
