Channel info screen keeps appearing

Just bought a new 46 inch LCD Toshiba problem I am having is the charlie receiver 301 decides to pop up the info screen whenever it feels like it, I am at a loss to why, I have switched to a diffrent receiver for same tv and problem continues. I have used those receivers on another tv and no problems. I dont understand why that is happening. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I know it cant be the tv cause it is a hardware that doesnt control a ird, if anyone knows the trick in stopping this from happening let me know running an atmega now. The effect is as someone has another remote and keeps hitting info and I have to hit recall to get out of it. Its funny in a way but annoying as hell

Sounds more like a remote control issue to me. Check your batteries. If that doesn't work, then try a different remote.

sorry for double post and I take the batteries out of both and it does it itself pops up the info screen think it needs priest to get the demon out

other infared devices from other electronics will have some of the same frequencys. (they some times overlap)

the tv.or remote from a vcr,dvd etc. keep an eye open for anything else happening same time as info popping up.

if you really want proof or external interference,put black tape over the eye.
well then if it still happens....you then have a funny:) 301.

You can try changing your remote control address. You may have to consult the manual for your remote control or a search should find the how-to on that. More than likely it is some infa-red device if it's not a direct malfunction of your remote. I seriously doubt it, but maybe even some kind of reflection from the new TV doing it. A good test to insure it's some kind of interference and not an actual receiver problem would be to cover up the infa-red port on the front of the receiver with black tape and see if it still does it.
