301/3100 receiver question

For some reason my 4900 has decided to quite. Any card that I put in says card not inserted correctley. Even a real 102.

So I think I shoul get a new receiver.

Question: Does the Bell 3100 need a Vidmod ? Appears that it is like a 301.10 which does not need one.

Question: Does it have a Jtag slot?

Question: Any difficulty to get Dish firmware on it?

Question: Any reason a 301 would be a better choice?

3100 or 301-010 do not need vid mod easy to j-tag. Some have j-tag hole ,some dont. Very good receiver.

That's my favorite model. Simple and easy to work with. Also has most of the latest guide features.

They are the same (301-010/3100) , easy to switch. There's no -013 with Bev.
